Supporting community organisations
When we set up New Caledonian Woodlands, our aim was to establish an organisation that would help bring about real environmental improvements in Scotland. We wanted to enhance biodiversity while also being of benefit to communities by helping them to improve local environmental assets.
We are always on the look-out for new community-led projects where we can be of help. If you are involved in a project which brings environmental and/or community benefit please get in contact with us to see if we can help.
We can offer:
consultancy input at the design stage of your project (for example design and specification of footpaths, raised beds, living willow structures);
ordering and delivery provision of project materials;
sourcing and coordination of volunteer
group/s to carry out project work, either for one day or for multiple
days. This includes:
-
provision of first aid cover, risk assessment,
public liability insurance and all health and safety matters for
volunteer project days;
-
provision of tools and PPE for all volunteers;
-
full instruction
for project task.
We can usually help you for free, and can sometimes even help with material costs for the project.
