New Caledonian Woodlands will be 5 years old in May, and we hope that this is going to be another busy year for us. We are continuing to develop our projects so they play a greater role in encouraging us all to live more sustainable lives. We think that this is important, and we think that you think so too.
Our aim has always been to run projects that demonstrate the value of our natural environment and its role in helping us to live more sustainable lives. Again in 2012 we will be running Reskilling Days- day long events, at the weekend, in addition to our tree planting days and conservation weekends. This year, for the first time, we hope to trial a ‘cut your own firewood’ day in Edinburgh, aimed especially at those with wood stoves who can burn wood fuel. These reskilling days add a new dimension to the purpose of our conservation activities and highlight the link between conservation of our natural environment and sustainable living. We hope that you will give them a try.
